Principles of Plant Protection | السنة الاولى | An introduction to the two branches of plant protection; plant diseases and insects, which includes general definitions, history, classification, levels, diagnosis of agricultural pests and diseases and their geographical distribution and their commonly used control methods |
Meteorology | السنة الثانية | An introduction to meteorology its relationships with plant insect pest outbreaks and disease epidemics. The study of frost and other physiological stresses that can negatively affect economic crops. |
Beekeeping | السنة الثانية | A brief history of beekeeping, Getting knowledge about bee cells, beekeeper tools and anatomy and functions of bees and their behavior, breeding and economics and the types of honey bees in Jordan and neighboring countries, in addition to managing farms and bee honey production |
Diseases of field and vegetable crops | السنة الثالثة | The most important plant diseases that affect field and vegetable crops in the world as a whole, the Arab world and Jordan in terms of causal agents, symptoms, epidemiology, economic losses and diagnostic and control methods used |
Horticultural Diseases | السنة الثالثة | The most important plant diseases that affect horticultural fruit trees in the world as a whole, the Arab world and Jordan in terms of causal agents, symptoms, epidemiology, economic losses and diagnostic and control methods used. |
Economic Entomology | السنة الثالثة | The most important insect pests that attack fruit trees and vegetable and field crops. The study of life stages, identification and taxonomy insects harmful to plants, with a focus on economic insects in Jordan, in addition to doing field trips inside and outside the faculty campus. <br> <br> |
Principles of Integrated Pest Management | السنة الثالثة | Basics of integrated management of plant insect pests, diseases and weeds, and the integration of various control methods, which include chemical, biological, cultural, physical and quarantine in an environmentally sound agricultural system . <br> <br> |
Pesticides | السنة الثالثة | Pesticide classification into types and groups based on chemical composition, formulation, mode of action and mechanisms, selectivity, toxicity and interactions with the environment, and their safety standards. <br> <br> |
Plant Resistance | السنة الرابعة | History, terminology, types and mechanisms of action and theories of plant resistance to pathogens, insect pests and mites. Genetic and field resistances besides the role of genetic engineering in developing resistant cultivars are explained. <br> <br> |
Integrated Management of Plant Diseases | السنة الرابعة | Studying the ways used to combat various plant diseases which attack economic crops and methods to monitor and forecast diseases, and management economics and strategies and plant-pathogen-environment interactions. <br> <br> |
Pesticides and environment | السنة الرابعة | The relationships and interactions between pesticides and the environment are studied in this course including factors that that affect pesticide stability, fate, effectiveness, residually and hazards and environmentally safe alternatives. |
